Sir John Dankworth
Tickets: £45 | £49.50
Saturday 7th June at 9.00pm
In this unique and exclusive triple-collaborative performance, American jazz artist Curtis Stigers joins British jazz legends Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine. Stigers has been described by Jazz Times as "one of the best male jazz singers of his generation". His career has been continuously celebrated for a surprisingly wide variety of impressive accomplishments including his early pop chart success with top-ten singles and hit albums.
John Dankworth's career as a performer, composer and conductor spans six decades, combining confidence and virtuosity with eclecticism and unpredictability. Amongst the many accolades, in 2006 he became the first jazz musician ever to receive a knighthood. From Cleo Laine's first musical award in 1956 when she became Melody Maker and NME Top Girl Singer, to being appointed a Dame, she has received more awards than it is possible to list. The concert will be a mixture of jazz standards and contemporary classics.
